Our History
In 2002, after years of travel and culinary success abroad, Carmen and Gigi Fedeles began building what would become Romania’s first medieval-themed castle dedicated to fine dining, hospitality, and art.
Inspired by the grand performances of Medieval Times in the United States, they envisioned a place where history meets modern experience, a destination where every guest could live their own story.
After five years of construction and refinement, the castle officially opened its gates in 2007, quickly becoming one of Iasi’s most prestigious event venues.
A Family of Visionaries
Chef Gigi Fedeles, an award-winning international culinary artist and sommelier, represented Romania in world competitions and earned gold medals across continents.
Together with his ASSOCIATE Carmen FEDELES, KNOWN AS CARMEN STIL WITH OVER 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A STYLIST AND FASHION, THEY created a concept where gastronomy became theatre, blending food, performance, and design into one immersive experience.
everything started with a small project called medieval gourmand AT IULIUS MALL WHERE THERE WAS A UNIQUE RESTAURANT IN A FOOD-COURT MADE OUT OF LOVE FOR CREATING EXPERIENCES FOR BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULTS AS IF THEY WERE IN THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD.
Their daughter, Cristiana Fedeles, EDUCATED in the UK, later led the events and sales divisions FOR CAVALERUL MEDIEVAL BY BRINGING ELECTRONIC MUSIC AND MAPPING VISUALS INTO THE CASTLE AND CREATING AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE.
The Experience
Cavalerul Medieval was designed as a complete event universe.
Every celebration included period costumes, fire shows, live medieval music, and full thematic décor. Guests were welcomed on red carpets by staff dressed in authentic armor and royal gowns, while inside, projection visuals and candlelight created an atmosphere unlike anything else in Eastern Europe.
The venue hosted political receptions, celebrity weddings, TV shows, and fashion galas.
Among its most iconic moments was the wedding reception of Romanian politician Relu Fenechiu, which gathered prominent figures, luxury brands, and international media.
